"OpenOffice ... thousands of desktops" "The Maharashtra government of India is increasingly opts for open-source software over licenced ones provided by technology giants like Microsoft.
In the past few months, OpenOffice, a free downloadable package of commonly-used applications like spreadsheets, word processing and email, has become the official choice for thousands of desktops across the state, and is expected to save the exchequer about Rs 90 crore in licence fees."
