Thursday January 18, 2007 I recorded my first ever podcast on Friday of last week. This was part of the launch materials for the Solaris 10 update launch that Sun had on the 16th Jan 2007. I was quite nervous about doing this even though I've been doing presentations and teaching since I was 15 years old. This was something new and different for me. I've even had my presentations video recorded on a number of occasions but some how this really just felt different.
We managed to do the whole podcast in a single take. The podcast covers at a very high level, well from a development engineers view of the world anyway, some of the new security functionality in the Solaris 10 11/06 release. It is hosted by Hal Stern, Hal talks to my self and Glenn Brunnette in an interview style.
If was great fun and I hope to be able to do more of these in the future, especially with Hal as an interviewer. I have one on Hal's books sitting on my bookshelf at home (Managing NFS and NFS) and it was great to record this with him and Glenn.
You can get the security podcast and the two others in the set on cluster and virtulaisation in the technical section of this page.
