The story of fbinfo
Many years ago I used to work in graphics support. One of the problems was not knowing what graphics card was in a system or how it was configured. I wrote a script called fbinfo to scan the devices (using the output of prtconf -vp) and extract the relevent information.

Since I no longer work in graphics support I don't have access to graphics hardware or the technical contacts that I used to do, so the script is not up to date with the more recent cards. If you want to help improve it and you have a system with a card that the script doesn't handle well then let me know and in my copious free time I may update the script.

The latest version should be HERE Permalink del.icio.us | furl | slashdot | technorati | digg Comments [2]
