StarOffice 9.0 is here!

Monday Nov 17, 2008

So Today, amidst all the other turmoil, Sun has released StarOffice 9.0. Why is this a big deal? Because it (finally!!) gives native support to Mac OS X! YES! Finally, after all these years of running OpenOffice.org under X11 (notthatbad, but not ideal) or running NeoOffice, we get to be first-class citizens! This is also a big deal because the Blogging Plugin is also available for Mac OS X, which means that now I can use StarOffice to post new blog entries.

Yes, this is a big deal. Yes, I'm really happy about it. If you're a MicrosoftOffice User, I suggest that you give StarOffice a try. The price is a lot more manageable ($34.95 for a single license, $25/user for enterprise volume pricing), the features are outstanding, and it's a nice, pretty interface.
