Friday November 17, 2006 What to do this weekend: see the new Bond movie You mean you were actually thinking of doing something else? The reviews have been excellent, and the movie takes an interesting departure, telling the story of Bond's origin as, in Ian Fleming's memorable phrase, "the dehumanized blunt instrument of the modern state." In a nice tribute to Fleming, Judi Dench's M makes use of that language. Don't worry -- the "shaken not stirred" Bond will emerge during the course of the story.
