Who am I?
Read two more of Rick Riordan's mysteries Recently finished reading the last two novels in Rick Riordan's Tres Navarre series. As I've noted, the series is set in Texas, and is really terrific. The last two are Southtown and Mission Road, and I probably liked them even more than the others. It seems to me that Riordan is making the stories darker and darker, so much so that at times they're almost painful to read. Southtown, especially, I had to read in small bites. He makes you empathize with the characters so much, including the villains, that you suffer right along with them. In other words, I am a complete fan. The next one in the series, Rebel Island, has been announced for 2007. I hate waiting. Riordan also writes a series of books for middle schoolers (he's a former English teacher), based the striking premise that the Greek gods are still around. I may just have to buy a couple, as gifts for my friends' kids of course. Posted by davidleetodd ( Aug 11 2006, 08:48:35 AM PDT ) PermalinkComments:
