10th Tech Days Anniversay
Matt Thomson welcomed the audience. He mentioned that the three days are like a party and lets make learning fun. Live cast in two other big cities - Bangalore and Chennai.
Divyesh Shah talked about how to break all the rules that the business schools teach. Whenever social computing is in the picture, India is right up there.
Rich Green's keynote addressed Sun Software and platforms that power the web economy, new applications that enable life on the web. He quoted - Innovate more, Code less. Participate, Learn, Thrive is the mantra. A site to visit: blogs.sun.com/innovation. Software begins and ends with what you can do!
The early bird registration prize went to Neeta Patil, a student from Sridevi College of Engineering for showing up at 7 am in the morning at the venue and wow, what she won - A SunSpot (Sun Small Programmable Object Technology).

Call for Action from Rich Green, after every technology or product descriptions were great. The short quick demo's were outstanding showcasing interesting Sun technologies were great. Two teams, each with 3 members, competed in this event. Every demo was done LIVE, within a 5 min window added an element of excitement.
The Tech days tried for the first time an online voting/rating exercise using SMS to select the winning team.
IPG booth area has been very popular. It is only 2 hrs into Day 1, and we have already run out of challenge contest forms & the survey forms, and the giveaways. Nice problem to have.!!
Overall, a great morning session.

Great morning session that was very well received. A lot of enthusiasm among the attendees. At the booths, we're getting a lot of interest in GlassFish and GlassFish documentation. Among other things, we're suggesting that folks go to http://wiki.glassfish.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=CommunityDocs for tips for contributing to GlassFish documentation. Great show already, and we're only on the morning of the first day!

The conference hall was filled to capacity for Rich's keynote, and the demos were very well received. Rich's talk was a good overiview of Sun software strategy, and the same factors influencing how developers deliver code are also affecting our roles as technical communicators. The more frequent product release cycles, greater emphasis on deployment on the web, all of these factors have been influencing our documentation development.
Many of the Hyderabad Tech Days attendees are students, and it will be good to talk with them over the next three days. Being able to talk with such a large group of people who are interested in our products and technologies is a great opportunity.
Helllo Everybody,
Anyone has idea about the location, from which we can download the PPTs or Presentations of the sessions?
Please respond with URL, if any.
Thanks in advance,
Rajesh.
