Being an amateur "Cool Hunter" means I'm always on the lookout for Cool. Today I saw a note on the Hightech-Discuss alias from an esteemed colleage and friend of mine, Andrea Kendall who found an interesting article on FoxNews about a brainwave actuated input device:

This is the sort of thing I could definitely get my head around (or around my head as it were)!

Being the closet gadget-geek juvenile I am, I couldn't resist placing a pre-order for my own, limited edition "God of Warcraft" online game player punisher.

It's due to be released later this year and so I'm anxiously anticipating my new power of MMORPG supremacy.

Beware you villains of WoW and Unreal Tournament!!

From a more professional perspective, my mind is spinning from the implications of this sort of input device. It reminds me of older movies like The Lawnmower Man and Disclosure. These movies both incorporated VR in very futuristic, but do-able ways. And since they weren't set too far into the future, you could see yourself using the gadgets they had.

It will be really interesting to see how you might be able to integrate it with your operating system, for things like reading eMail and web-surfing, or perhaps with more real-time applications like simulators and maps.

Now that I've come across something I didn't know existed but obviously must have, I can't wait to see how well it works!

I'll keep y'all posted!
