comings and goings
I say this because after his second pre-season start, he's poised to exceed the number of regular-season games he's started for the bombers. But he's a good talent, one the BoSox originally wanted, a fact that was quickly forgotten after Matt Clement's remarkable first half of the '05 season. Even with his equally remarkable implosion in the 2nd half, with Pavanno riding the bench (both were non-factors in '06), there was little reason to revisit this decision...until now.
Not that I wish him to be particularly effective against the Sox during the regular (and hopefully post) season, but he's been the punchline long enough and I'm glad his talent is no longer going to waste.
How do Arkansas and BC get into the NCAA tournament and Syracuse not? Is it time for a BCS-like controversy surrounding the selection committee (or has it always been there and I've just never been on the outside)? . Oh well, at least Central Connecticut State made it! (The "Central" in Central Connecticut is not just a name: New Britain is equadistant (110 miles) from both New York and Boston, and is often considered to be something like the Mason-Dixon line of Yankees/Red Sox loyalty.) Finally, I think we can conclude that the Patriots are not interested in Randy Moss. So eager are they to demonstrate this point, they're signing every available receiver but Moss.
