Another entry from Slashdot (see the article on Slashdot). It seems that BetterDesktop (Novell/OpenSUSE) have contributed many videos of usability studies of open source projects to the community. There is also some raw information and some reports available.
I think it is great to see this kind of information being gathered and made available for open source projects. Certainly, I'd like to see more of this kind of thing.
It would also be nice to get a little more demographic data about the participants in the study, such as what they do on a daily basis. (I used to say "subjects", but had a co-worker point out that the people aren't actually the subjects of the study. It is the software that is the subject. As we sometimes say "We are testing the software, not you". So now I call them "participants". What do other people call these folks?)
