So yesterday I borrowed the neighbors two stage snow blower to clear the 12 inches of snow from our driveway and sidewalk. Even with the snow blower it was a lot of work. We have made the decision in our household to do it, we are going to just purchase our own. Sorry that I did not take before and after pictures of this snow fall, you can see photos of a large snow fall a few years back... that is when I shoveled it all by hand.

For what it's worth.

We didn't get this much snow this season but I love my snow thrower all the same. You are right it doesn't do the job by itself but it really helps.
Have a great weekend

Check out the Ariens or the Toro. Consumer reports rates the Toro Power Max 828LXE and the Craftsman (Sears) 88790 as the top two. However on the Toro I would not go any lower than 10HP -- Look for the Toro Power Max 1028LXE.

Also make sure you get a couple of shear pins and if the Toro has belts the replacement belts just in case you break something.
