A Diva Gift for a Diva Dog - - - From a Real Life Diva!

Recently, Grace received her first present in the mail.  

It was from Maria, one of Sun's internal sales communicators and an author of the Engineering Diva Blog!

Grace loved her gift -- fancy shoes (Manolo Barkniks!) that she was allowed to eat!

The 'cookies' are all natural and made in San Francisco -- they have all kinds of fancy purses, cocktails, etc. for Diva Dogs.  (What a riot!  I only wish that I had capitalized off of this idea myself.)

Maria is really good with all of this social media stuff -- she uses all kinds of Web 2.0 tools in her communications role to support one of Sun's best known engineering leaders.  

But she's also good at the old fashioned kind of communications: a simple letter or card, a thoughtful package in the mail and just sometimes even a phonecall to say hello!

We need to keep Maria's techiques in mind -- learn when to use the new stuff and when the old way of doing things is just as good - if not better (and sometimes even more thoughtful.)
