Lay down Fido...I mean lie down!

I've discovered a fabulous podcast that helps me remember some pesky grammar rules -- like when to use lie vs. lay vs. laid vs. lain.  It's called Grammar Girl and you can download 5-minute bite size lessons from the site or through itunes.  Eric Clapton's Lay Down Sally, I'm sorry to report, is grammatically incorrect.  It should be Lie Down Sally, and if you want to find out why, listen to episode 37.   Grammar Girl also takes issue with Bob Dylan's Lay Lady Lay....good stuff.

Must say, the ipod purchase last year was my first step in joining this century.  Better late than never!  And, now that I've posted a blog entry, I've reached another milestone....so I'm going to lie down now.

Great podcast tip. And nice work on your maiden voyage into the blogosphere.
