Cool Things from MDE ....Reuters RMDS 6.0 on Solaris 10 &.... Monty Python

How about this for dedication and focus -

Amjad Khan - Technical Account Manager in Sun's Market Development Engineering group - moved his entire family to Chicago for 3 months so that he could focus on the port of  Reuters widely used Market Data System (RMDS) to Sun's Solaris 10(TM) x64 platform

This extraordinary effort led to extraordinary results.  Powered by Solaris 10 & running on Sun Fire(TM) x64 servers, Sun  exceeded the one million market data updates per second benchmark on RMDS 6.0.  Read more about it at: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060620/sftu086.html?.v=60

Sun also maintains a special website for Reuters: http://www.sun.com/third-party/global/reuters/
Here, you can find the latest benchmark reports and sizing docs for RMDS6.0 from this website.

Cool Funny Link of the Day....

This is hilarious. Star Trek sings Monty Python. Who comes up with this stuff - honestly.... two snaps up!
