V for Vendetta egg dishes......

Ok, so this is why I love the internet. Obscure egg recipes inspired by movies.

I watched "V for Vendetta" again this weekend (see blog entry below from last week) Still really like that movie, but one thing that really caught my eye was a breakfast dish....  Both "V" and "Gordon" (movie characters in "V") cooked the same thing  -  "egg in a hole" - basically a piece of bread, with a hole in the middle, fried together with an egg in the hole.  It looked really tasty. In the movie, it was  referred to it as an "eggie in a biscuit".

So I googled "eggie in a biscuit" - didn't come up with anthing by that name, but kept trying "egg in a hole in toast" or something lame like that and ended up with this link :http://www.flickr.com/photos/churl/114472624/

Scrolling down, I find lots of other folks  as intrigued by this breakfast dish as I, and also  inspired by "V for Vendetta" to seek it out.

The internet is great for all these little sub-cultures or micro climates.  It shouldn't surprise me and it doesn't, but I am still fascinated by it.
