I've just been assured by Mike Lee (the UK & Ireland Chief Technologist for the Commercial business unit) that what attacked Chester and I was probably Rooks or Crows.
However I must disagree in that the birds involved were at least twice the size of a Crow (they were easily twenty inches in height), nor did they have the distinctive grey-white skin between the beak and eyes of a Rook.
So, as far as I'm concerned, they were Ravens.
However Mike believed that the "body" in question was likely to be "lunch".
