US Scientists from Purdue University have created an interactive Google Earth map showing carbon dioxide emissions across the United States, the high-resolution map shows carbon dioxide emissions in metric tons and took three years to complete. Currently showing data from 2002 only, the next stage will be to narrow down the readings with more information being fed into the system. The United States accounts for some 25 per cent of global emissions of carbon dioxide, despite consistently denying that it significantly contributes to global warming.
