Changing the Caps Lock Key to a Control Key on Windows XP

Wednesday Mar 07, 2007

At some point in my history as a computer user, I got used to using keyboards with a Unix layout which have a Control key where the Caps Lock key is on PC keyboards. Now that most current keyboards have the PC layout, this messes up my typing. I also never use the Caps Lock key. On Windows, I use a registry setting to fix this: capslocktocontrol.reg. There is also one to return to the default setting: defaultkeymap.reg.
