Goodbye SUNW, Hello JAVA
Today it was announced
by Jonathan Swartz that Sun's stock ticker will change on Monday from
SUNW to JAVA. I'm not sure this move will have any real effect on the company
or the stock price, but it is certainly a cooler name than "SUNW". The "W" stood for workstations, and
we certainly have moved far away from being just a workstation company. In fact, we only
have four desktop workstations in the
product portfolio today and there aren't any more that I know of on the horizon.
On the other hand, there seems to be plenty of Java software products in the
portfolio.
Go JAVA!

Go Java? You mean that slow, COMPLEX, BLOATED, interpreted excuse for a programming language?
What a scandal!!!

As a shareholder of the new JAVA stock, I certainly say "Go JAVA". For me it has nothing to do with the Java language.
