Tuesday Aug 11, 2009Wednesday Jul 22, 2009A new minor update to the 2009.Q2 software has been posted. This release fixes several CIFS issues, as well as a bug that prevents systems from being rebooted while a system disk is being resilvered. This release is recommended for all users, but particularly those in a CIFS environment. Complete release notes can be found here. Monday Jul 06, 2009A new micro update to the 2009.Q2 software has been posted. This release fixes a regression in the 2.0 release for iSCSI LUNs that have the write cache setting turned on. This release is recommended for any users running 2009.Q2.2.0 or later that have LUNs configured with the write cache setting turned on. Complete release notes can be found here. Monday Jun 29, 2009Another minor update to the 2009.Q2 software has been posted. This release primarily addresses some interoperability in complex Active Directory environments, though it also includes some features to make it easier to support the 7000 series. This update is recommended for all CIFS users, particularly those with multiple forests or domain controllers. Complete release notes can be found here. Friday Jun 12, 2009A new micro update to the 2009.Q2 software has been posted. This release contains only two small fixes, one to address spurious NTP failures and one to address a performance regression introduced in the 2009.Q2.2.0 release. Users with a heavy write workload running 2009.Q2.2.1 should upgrade at their earliest convenience. Complete release notes can be found here. Monday Jun 08, 2009A new minor update to the 2009.Q2 software has been posted. This release contains numerous fixes, including core I/O and networking stability improvements. All customers are strongly encouraged to update to this release at soon as possible, particularly 7410 systems. Complete release notes can be found here. Wednesday May 27, 2009
Today we announced the newest member of the 7000 series family: the Sun Storage 7310. The 7310 is an expandable system that supports clustering much like the high-end 7410 but at a lower price point. Take a look at Adam's blog post for more. For an entry-level clustered system the performance, however, is far from entry-level. Brendan has taken the same metrics used to evaluate the 7410 to measure the performance of the 7310 and it's quite the little speedster — especially considering its market segment. |
