Driving more Contribution is a key element this year to the most happening Open-Source conference in India, FOSS.IN. The event organizers have spent sleepless nights to figure out the right kind of infrasturcture to aid more contribution to the diverse participating communities. As a result of this, you will see a lot of new events that will take place this year.
Project Days (or the Unconference) is one such event where 8 communities will run all day sessions over 2 days. They will conduct sessions focused on driving more contributions to the respective communities. Banagalore Open Solaris User Group, the most active OpenSolaris user group is also doing Project Days and a lot of efforts have been put in to chalk out the right schedule. The live registration stats show that almost 50% of the registered delegates have shown interest in OpenSolaris. This, to me, is a big achievement in itself given that the community is hardly 2 years old.
HackCenter is another new and unique addition to FOSS.IN this year. The idea is to provide the basic infrastructure for developers to get together and hack up something. With developers learning more about How-tos of contributing to OpenSolaris through the Project Day sessions, HackCenter is just the right place to get some hands-on experience. BOSUG members are excited to share their working experience through this event.
So with this excitement, BOSUG is announcing an OpenSolaris bug-fixing HackCenter at FOSS.IN.
We are calling all the OpenSolaris enthusiasts to participate in the Project Day sessions and later, work with us to fix bugs in the OpenSolaris. Please register for the HackCenter during the Project Day sessions. Registrations are not restricted to the Project Day audience only and developers can directly register at the Sun stall.
During the HackCenter event, a Live media (with required source and build tools) will be provided with handouts that describe the steps to compile and test in detail. For any further assistance, technical help will be available at the Sun stall.
The response has been really good so far and we are excited to get some contributions to the community. So, spread the word and Register to the HackCenter!

Rajesh, Thanks for your interest in OpenSolaris activities.
The project days session and the HackCenter event was only for the FOSS.IN attendees. I would suggest you to join Bangalore OpenSolaris user group (ug-bosug@opensolaris.org), You can get all the help on that group.
