Blog-wise, I've been quiet the past few months. Traveling, school and researching for my role at Sun has kept me focused inward, building new knowledge about technology's role in creating positive change. Or, bridging the digital divide as we refer to it here at Sun. As I move into my new position, managing international volunteer activities and strategic partnerships at Sun (today is my first day in this new role), I am excited to begin sharing some of the amazing resources that have inspired me.

NGO's, co-workers and the web have been key vehicles for my research. Interpersonal meetings have been invaluable, irreplaceable and inspiring. But, I am constantly blown away by, and have yet to take for granted, the quality and volume of relevant information available over the web.

I've been traveling for a few weeks and have not had the chance to catch up on the blogs that I have grown to regularly check. This morning I made it a priority to do so and while visiting one of my favorite blogs, the World Resources Institute's NextBillion.net learned about Innovations Journal's special Davos Edition . Not only did I see contributions listed by some of my long time heroes of social entrepreneurship (most notably Matt Flannery of Kiva and Victoria Hale of One World Health) but I also learned about projects, new to me such as Jim Fruchterman's Benetech project. This entry isn't about my perspective on these amazing projects (I have some reading to do before I do that) but rather as an impetus for those of you interested in social innovation and the digital divide to check out some of these fantastic resources and explore the web for more. Stay tuned for many more resources to come...

Congratulations on your new position, Dan. Good luck getting caught up on your reading - I look forward to hearing more about it.
