We continue to have ongoing collaboration with the UN Global Youth Leadership Summit series.

Today I participated in a video chat with some key UN Youth Delegates from around the world.

We're not yet ready to discuss the specifics of what we talked about publicly. Stay tuned on that front.

Suffice it to say, we're working on follow-on to the conversations that happened onstage at JavaOne.

Scott McNealy and the UN's Dr. Diallo ontage at JavaOne

All of this builds on the work we've done to date with this organization.

This video chat today was only accessible to the invited UN  Youth delegates.

It was the first time I had the opportunity to use this video chat medium to communicate to these very accomplished and inspiring young people. The infrastructure made it possible to "pass the baton" between me and Dr. Diallo....

I represented Sun on this exchange; Dr. Diallo the UN, obviously.

It was a lot of fun!

(The chat was recorded and the UN Youth Leaderhsip Summit series will make it available when we announce the specifics of what we're doing publicly.)

Meanwhile, we're conducting more interactions w/more UN Youth delegates around the world later tonight and again tomorrow.

For the meetings tomorrow, we'll be conducting them in French and Spanish, to ensure we cover the key languages for the primary geographies.

Members of the extended Sun Foundation community are stepping forward to serve as spokespeople for these, as the UN requested we had native language speakers as primary spokespersons on these pre-briefings with the delegates. (And I'm not a native speaker of French or Spanish.)

So a big thank you in advance to Patrick Crasson and David Campos, who are stepping forward tomorrow to lead the dialogue and serve as spokspersons for Sun in French and Spanish, respectively.

Merci! Gracias!

It's sure to be a lot of fun!

I'm really looking forward to what's ahead.

Mary

Hi Mary,

I am involved in efforts here in Canada to address the Digital Divide in the Middle East and North Africa.

I was impressed with your involvement and Sun's efforts. I am proud to say I was an employee of Sun from 1998-2001 in the Media Entertainment sector in Toronto.

Please include me in any further information about such topics as ICT, ICT4D and The digital Divide.

Thanks
