It Leaves You Speechless ... in Inspiration

While cruising pbase.com, I discovered the "Phuket Tsunami: Images of the Disaster Rescue, Relief and Recovery Efforts in South East Asia" gallery. It's a powerful mix of images, and I find myself gravitating to the pictures of laughing children (like this one.) Its such a wonderful image of hope - the laughter and smiles of children.

Another great gallery is "I Dreamt of Burma." The picture "May the joy come back" made me smile.

A Letter to Frito-Lay ... in Distractions

I found this "A Letter to Frito-Lay" a long time ago, but I have it bookmarked and re-read it from time to time. I still get a giggle out of it. From that story I discovered Fireland. It seems Josh has moved on to Chokeville.

Song of the Day ... in Music

Anyone remember Dinosaur Jr.? "Green Mind" was a pretty good album (even though the cover art unsettles me), and "Thumb" is a song that seems to be bits and pieces of a relucant conversation.

"There never really is a good time
There’s always nothing much to say
Pretty good, not doing that fine
Getting up most every day
Steppin’ out, I tried to fix it
Pulled a thumb out of that hole
Give me ingredients, I’ll mix it
How can you move without a goal

There never really is a good time
There’s always nothing much to say
Pretty good, not doing that fine
Getting up most every day
An excuse is all you’re in for
The abuse is all you crave
Sure you know just what is in store
Wait and see if I’ll behave"
