Sun Tech Days

Second day again it was a huge crowd. Jim Hughes started the keynote by explaining the Moore's law. He was comparing the Golconda fort which is one of the oldest fort in Hyderabad with OS security features. Later Vijayanand from Oracle along with his colleague gave some demos on Java.

Under university track, Bhaskar G gave the university programs, he did talk about  "a focussed approach to success". In his presentation, he spoke about SAI(Sun Academic Initiative) and Sun India university programs. Later part of the evening, Hyderbad Open Solaris User Group(HOSUG) was also launched. Around 100 people were attended. Moinak gave a wonderful talk on opensolaris distro, Belenix.

During the event, I had been to Osmania university and met faculties. Addressed to the faculties and gave the presentation on SAI and about sun technologies adoption into their university curriculum. They all are happy to include opensolaris as part of their curriculum.

In the third day, it was about opensolaris, netbeans and java ME day.

KNR gave a keynote at opensolaris track. Around 900 people attended the entire day. It was jam packed.

JavaME talk was given by Terrence Barr, who gave a nice talk on Sun Java wireless client and its features.

As usual, my visits continued with universities.

I had been to IIIT and institute of e-governance and met Mr. Prasad and Mr. Murali who is the deputy director, research projects.

Overall it was wonderful trip to Hyderabad.

I'll be posting the photos of Sun Tech Days and the university tour.
