Facelift for http://platform.netbeans.org
http://platform.netbeans.org, the home page for the NetBeans Platform (providing Javadoc, tutorials, interviews, tips & tricks, and much much more) is getting a sorely needed facelift. The first iteration of this facelift is available on the live site right now and looks as follows, click the image to get to the page:
Changes that have been implemented already include the banner at the top, a clearer division of links in the right sidebar, a more compact piece of explanatory text in the main body of the page, and better examples of existing NetBeans Platform applications represented by images that link to more info about the applications in question. Right now, the length of the page is about half of what it was before. Shorter and sweeter, at least, that's the intention. Much more needs to be done (some flashy AJAX-type stuff possibly, some dynamic content perhaps, a 'news' section potentially, etc) and much more is planned. Any comments or insights of whatever kind would be warmly welcomed. If you like, to make it really easy for you, you can leave your insights at the end of this blog entry.
