Spectroscopy Analysis on the NetBeans Platform

Spectroscopy comprises any measurement of a quantity as a function of either wavelength or frequency. It is often used in physical and analytical chemistry for the identification of substances through the spectrum emitted from or absorbed by them. How do I know all this? Well, to be honest, Wikipedia.

SpectraSuite from Ocean Optics is, yes, an advanced modular spectroscopy application created with the NetBeans Platform as its starting point. Moreover, "SpectraSuite is the platform for all future Ocean Optics application software development. Current software applications including OOIChem, OOIColor and OOIIrrad-C have been migrated to the SpectraSuite platform, with applications such as OOISensors and OOILIBS coming in the near future."

I also like this tagline: "SpectraSuite is the first modular, OS-independent spectroscopy software platform."

There's a lot more about it here on the SpectraSuite page.

Just one of, literally, dozens of other NetBeans Platform applications I've come across in the last few weeks through a bit of googling.

As a chemistry student (analytical) i`m more than happy to see this program on our school. I might inform the teacher about this.
