Well, another 13 hours or so I'll be on a plane to Israel. For some reason I can't say if I'm really excited. I think others have been more excited for me which is good. As of Friday I'm 48 minutes under my vacation maximum so the timing is perfect. As usual though, I'm going without much of a plan. The unknown is part of the fun of travel, but it makes me nervous too because this isn't an inexpensive trip. It used to bother me, but I'm at peace with the way I am.
I'm trying to go as light as possible(sort of).
- Camera bag:
- 3 Cameras
- 2 DSLRs, 3 lenses and 1 p&s
- 117GB of available storage (100 GB PSD, 17GB across 6 media cards)
- 10 sets of batteries and 4 chargers
- 1 little tripod
- 1 iPod Nano ( powered by AA's )
- 2 weeks of BSF homework
- Bible
- Carry-on luggage:
- Clothing
- Toiletries
If not for the fact that I don't want to stink, I'd travel with just my bible and my camera, but I have carry-on for clothes/toiletries. The most surprising part of this so far is that my parents are not worried (not that they've verbalized to me at least). I guess having lived in Nigeria during a military coup traveling in Israel is nothing. I do feel better traveling knowing they are not worried. I won't have a computer but I may break down and visit an internet cafe. We'll see. Anyways, I need to finish packing. If I don't get to communicate with you before 4/16, Happy Easter.
