Finding a bug by way of a noisy disk
While trying out a new machine today, I found a incredible interesting performance bug with Mozilla 1.7. This machine has a large SCSI disk which is incredible noisy, almost like back the good old day of IBM AT hard disk which at some point would have caused the table to shake when compiling. This performance related bug in Mozilla 1.7 is found because the machine made incredible random noise whenever the mouse cursor hovering over any URIs. So afterall, there are good reasons to make noisy disk which provide useful feedback to the user.
