divablog and webmink hosted a most excellent "os" conference earlier this week. nothing like getting the playaz together for a spin. great info all around. having just returned from nice break i was looking forward to attending the discusison but found out, rather late in the evening, that i was actually slated as a participant. being one who feels most comfortable in small'ish gatherings with beers in hand i was, well, scrambling for all of 2 minutes untill i realized i was all yo'd up on antihistamines and the like (allergies, colds oh my) and that it ain't nothing but a thing. the day was excellent. *way* better then the day before where my beloved firewall decided to spew chunks. got to meet some great folks, new and old alike, like doc, duncan, wilfredo, daniel, zak and others. good times. the panels went well, from my perspective at least. time sure does fly whilst being under the microscope. i would've liked to have dived deeper into more real world jxta use cases as a model describing rapid adoption, on the order of weeks at times, and subsequent deployment of new thought provoking applications, etc. there are so many dimensions to jxta it can be hard, with the clock ticking, to give the topic justice, at least from a broad perspective. none the less it was fun. being a fan of xp much of "how to opensource" just feels pretty obvious to me. just don't be stupid, do your best and when $hit happens don't sweat the details. dinner was amazing. sauteed pacific seabass ... hmmmmmmm. much appreciated.
