i wish i was rich :: chat about it
not b'cuz of all the bling bling. no. i'm thinking more of a scenario as described by habitat chronicles (thx bblfish): When people ask me about my life's ambitions, I often joke that my goal is to become independently wealthy so that I can afford to get some work done. Mainly that's about being able to do things without having to explain them first, so that the finished product can be the explanation. I think this will be a major labor saving improvement. i wish i was rich.

eliza speaks ... the thread :: chat about it
got'a have a bit of fun from time to time. anyways, i've tooled around with various message listeners and filters with myjxta for awhile now and decided to give eliza a go. about time i say! initially i happened upon splotch which looks to be quite fleshed out and has a rich (and colorful) dictionary. upon further investigation the code looks to be LGPL (good) but alas the templates and dictionaries are under GPL. the author asserts that one can readily use the code as is and incorporate one's own dictionary. i think i will try that out down the road a bit. not wanting to give up on the eliza idea before i went to bed i found charles hayden's smallish eliza implemenation with a free invite to do with the code as i wish. coolio! thank you charles. 20 minutes later we now have an (elementary) eliza peer ... yet i still have so many questions :) i do want to switch to splotch given the code looks tight and newer and the dimensions of the vocabular also look to be richer. as i dive into this a bit further i note that some of the folks vision in the are of "eliza research" are quite alinged with p2p principals, that being to (my words) "organic cultivation of dialogs." topics including distributed kb, wikis, etc appear to thread in and about eliza themes. interesting ...
