JTree woes (2) Finally got it. The code was trying to collapse the root node and it is this that was causing the corruption and an array out of bounds exception. Removing the collapse call still produces the desired effect. I now need to decide who really was at fault. Either way I don't like the internals of JTree spewing out of bounds exception at me.

Okay next issue...
