A hockey defenseman leads an attack against Autism
Friday Mar 23, 2007
Hockey players get a lot of bad press for fighting on the rink. Well, we happen to know a hockey player who is fighting a good fight...both on the ice and on the web. Ben Stern (aka “Bubba”),
is a 7th grade student and hockey defenseman with the NJ Devils Youth Hockey Club. During the weekends, Ben volunteers with the Devils primary program and skills clinic. And, as if that's not enough, he also volunteers as a junior coach with the DareDevils, a special needs hockey program.
But wait...that's not all!
In preparation for his Bar Mitzvah this April, Ben has created Assist From Bubba, a fund raising project for assisting the fight against Autism. All the funds he raises will be donated to Autism Speaks, Cure Autism Now, and the DareDevils program.
Bubba, you have found a way to humble the Divas!
