I HATE WORKING OUT!
There comes a time in a Diva's life when she can't count on her quick metabolism to keep her slim anymore. So finally, after much consideration, I joined a Health Club.
I don't have any gym clothes suitable for the 21st century, I'm out of shape, and I don't have any makeup on, but I'm going for it! So here is my good / bad summary of yesterday's experience:
good:I snagged a great parking spot near the front door
bad - Now i have to go in!!!
good: The gym was empty
bad - Lack of muscle-heads to make fun of
good: Oh look, there's a doctor's scale in the ladies locker room
bad- My digital scale has been deceiving me for years!! bad scale! bad, bad, bad scale!
good: Flat screen TVs on all the cardio equipment
bad - My TV channel changer wasn't working. I had to watch a woman giving birth on the discovery channel. Been there, done that...
good: I loaded my iPod with great hip hop music
bad - Where is that terrible singing coming from? Ooops-it's me. Sorry fellow runners (I'm excited -what can I say??)
good, no GREAT I made it through my 1st 30 minute run on the elliptical trainer !
bad - Am I going to pass out??
good: The smoothie bar!! I had the best "fat burning" orange creamsicle smoother ever
bad - Brain Freeze!
good: I can't wait to go back
bad- Watch out other Jersey Girls 'cause here i come!!!
In the end, I'm glad I did it and I look forward to reporting back on my progress throughout the year. If you work from home, it's a great way to get out of the house for an hour and recharge your battery!
