I can't drive in reverse!!

I can do many things backwards: write, walk, swim, jump rope, roller blade, etc. Why can't I drive a straight line in reverse??
Here is my most recent landscaping "contribution" to our new home's driveway:
I tried to blame it on our gardeners (sorry guys) but my husband has a second career as a forensic detective and noticed the mud on my tires.
Now we have to add the following to our home improvement list:
+ widen driveway
