Sun Awarded $44 Million US Government Research Project!!

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is the central research and development organization for the US Department of Defense (DoD).
DARPA’s mission is to prevent technological surprise for the US and to create technological surprise for our adversaries. So, how cool is it that Sun was just awarded $44 million for a five-and-a-half-year research project focused on bringing revolutionary improvements to optical computing?!?!?!
