Beryl

I met Quinn Storm yesterday at the Xorg Developers' Conference (which Sun is hosting). Quinn is the lead of the Beryl project. I got a demo of the window manager, and I have to say that I was mighty impressed.

Will you see Beryl up and running on OpenSolaris anytime in the near future? You can count on it!

mmm I prefer "light 3D effects" as Metacity "--enable-compositor" feature. It should be a good solution for an enterprise platform. The situation to implement it for Nvidia driver is ok for others depend around DRI implementation.

We're not giving up on Metacity. You can always choose your favorite window manager.
