Welcome to Odd Bits new home on blogs.sun.com 
Hi and welcome to Odd Bits new home. Helzerman's Odd Bits started out as an internal IBM blog and was moved to my own domain http://helzerman.com a couple years ago where it has been ever since. I'm currently planning to keep up with my posts there with subjects revolving around fun things like entertainment, politics, etc. I'm also a contributor over at Dvorak Uncensored and will continue to post there as well. I decided to start a blog here at blogs.sun.com as a place for more focused discussions around communications, social networks, the media, and analyst communities. As with my other blog, I plan to tell it like it is, push some boundaries and have fun until I run out of things to say (as if) or until someone shuts me down (I'll never surrender!). For those of you who found this blog through blogs.sun.com and have no idea who I am... I'm Catherine Helzerman and (as of three weeks ago) I lead the corporate IT analyst relations programs here at Sun...meaning I get to deal with Gartner, IDC, RedMonk and all of those other fun lovin' analyst firms. My main areas of focus are eco responsibility (remind me to rant about my neighbors who own four (!) SUVs), mergers & aquisitions (always a good time to be had by all), cross-brand initiatives, and generally whatever else falls into the "other" category. Before joining Sun I was at IBM for seven years where I managed analyst relations for a number of programs and products including Microelectronics, Linux, System p & AIX, Virtualization, Grid, and Technology Collaboration Solutions. When I'm not working or blogging you can find me on Second Life in the Sun Pavilion, Helzerman's House, or wandering around trying to avoid the thriving underbelly. My name there is Hajia Engawa. Hajia is the name of a scam artist who used to send me email all of the time. Engawa was picked at random. Ok, enough of the introductions and the resume... and on to some posts.
