One perfect use for J2ME CDC technology is to use it on small devices to link together data for security purposes. A PDA or cell phone with J2ME CDC tech can use encryption to transfer data updates from many parts of an area picking up sensors and data readings. See: The above book doesn't mention J2ME directly, but you can see where it can apply, espcially on the device side. Security is a big market for J2ME CDC.
