The BlackBerry has been berry, berry good to J2 me.

Research in Motion (RIM) has announced it is opening up its BlackBerry platform to other cell phone makers via a set of Java APIs.

Blackberry Connect and Blackberry Built-In will let a manufacturer enable their cell phones to connect to the Blackberry platform infrastructure or to build an entire BlackBerry device via Java calls. Hmmm... Java and J2ME technology as the cell phone operating system. Well, that's what we've been saying all along in the J2ME CDC group, but if RIM wants to take credit, OK. :-)
