Ooey! Using Java technology for a GUI
Motorola announced their e680i cell phone which has a PDA-style 240x320 screen and has Linux OS on it with "a user interface that is written in Java." See: Motorola e680i Linux w/user interface in Java Hey, I've often wondered about the grammatical rule: Is it "a user interface" or "an user interface"? I always thought if something starts with a vowel (like "u") you must use "an" instead of "a". Doesn't sound right with "an" though... Another mystery of the universe. Anyone have a pointer to the correct grammar rule? Thanks in advance! |
