Horsing around with J2ME technology

Summus and Churchill Downs have created a Java technology-enabled game called "Kentucky Derby Championship Racing" for Sprint PCS J2ME enabled phones.

Horsing around with J2ME phones

Here's a quote from their announcement:

The number of people playing games on cell phones
in the United States last year jumped to 18.7
million from 10.6 million in 2003. Cell phone games
are expected to grow from $345 million in revenues
in 2004 to $1.5 billion in 2008 in the United States
alone... worldwide cell phone games sales could
reach about $1 billion in 2005 and $4 billion in 2007
 ...
And down the stretch... it's J2ME and BREW. J2ME on the inside. J2ME pulling away. J2ME out by a length. It's J2ME in full control. Oh no, BREW stumbles! BREW is pulling up lame. J2ME continues at full stride, while BREW is wandering around the infield limping. At the finish line, it's J2ME! :-)
