Difference between a suite (like of s/w) and suit (like a patent lawsuit)
There's a typo in this article about Trolltech unifying the Linux development stack on smartphones (also including a unified Java ME MIDP implementation). Yeah, finally. See: Find the typo in this Trolltech Linux on Smartphones article Here's a quote: The suit [sic] also includes WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) and HTML browsers, messaging software, video and audio recording capabilities, DRM (digital rights management), 3D graphics, video telephony, VOIP (voice over IP) support, a VPN (Virtual Private Network) client and Java MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile). When I first read this, I thought there was a Patent Infringement Lawsuit that somehow included Java MIDP! :-O Ahhhh!!! But, nooooooo, the author typed "suit" when she meant "suite", as in Trolltech's "Greensuite" Linux development software for smartphones. Oh, that's different. Nevermind. Just goes to show ya, spellcheck will only getcha so far before you have to actually think for yourself. :-) I wonder what a Trolltech Green Suit would look like... Probably long in the tail... |
