Java ME tech-enabled See 'N Say, actually Say 'N See
Tellme, which is now part of Microsoft is offering free consumer services that will enable Java ME technology-enabled mobile phones to have search ability by speaking or typing a question and then hear or see the response. See: Microsoft's Use of Tellme: Java ME enabled Say 'N See Here's a quote: That service initially will be available on 50 of the most popular phones from Sprint and Cingular, Davis says. For now, it works with phones built on the Symbian mobile platform and those that run Sun Microsystems' (SUNW) Java software. Tellme also plans a version for Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform. That is the right way to go: Make sure to get out a port of your Mobile Software on Java ME technology first. Sure, you can plan a Microsoft Windows Mobile port for the future (yeah, right, like that's gonna happen :-)), but the important port will be on Java ME tech to address as many users as possible (1.5 billion handsets with Java ME). |
