Wapple should move to Java ME technology

Currently, there's a company in the UK called Wapple (now, there's a trademark infringement case waiting to happen!), that converts Mobile Internet content to the least common denominator in order to render to a wireless device screen in XHTML, HTML, CHTML or WML. Phooey! No Java ME technology? What's up with that?

See:

Wapple should use Java ME MIDlet to render

Here's a quote:

 By knowing more about the
 users' handsets it is also
 possible to target certain
 demographics that may have
 high-end handsets for example.
And as it would also be
 foolish to deliver video or
 Java applications to older
 devices that do not support
 these formats, Wapple prevents
 this from happening whilst
 retaining the optimum user
 experience.
I think they should follow what Opera Mini does and use Java ME to render, not a WAP browser. It's much easier and faster that way. But, hey, with a name like Wapple, and a company like Apple which has a slew of lawyers, you know their company won't be around for very long... Or, at least not with their current name! :-)
