Oh, happy, happy, joy, joy. HD-DVD is going through its final death throes as Blu-ray (the one with Java ME CDC technology) hammers the final nail into the HD-DVD coffin by cinching a deal with Warner to provide their movies only on the Blu-ray format starting this year. Yahoo vs. Mechagodzilla, er, I mean Google
Yahoo is taking on Google's Android with their Java ME technology-based Yahoo Go mobile platform. By writing widgets for the Yahoo Go free development environment, you can have your mobile apps run on hundreds of devices right off the bat, without all that micro-porting from device to device. It's nice to see the market taking care of fragmentation by working with Java ME technology instead of against it. Go with the flow.
