Blu-ray w/Java ME tech picked by Warner, HD-DVD going buh-bye

Oh, happy, happy, joy, joy. HD-DVD is going through its final death throes as Blu-ray (the one with Java ME CDC technology) hammers the final nail into the HD-DVD coffin by cinching a deal with Warner to provide their movies only on the Blu-ray format starting this year.

Say buh-bye to the non-Java ME HD-DVD

Here's a quote:

 Warner Bros. Entertainment said Friday
it will release movie discs only in
 the Blu-ray format, becoming the
latest studio to reject the rival HD
 DVD technology...
Bum, bum, bum, badda-da-da-bum-da-dum... Sing along everyone...

Yahoo vs. Mechagodzilla, er, I mean Google

Yahoo is taking on Google's Android with their Java ME technology-based Yahoo Go mobile platform. By writing widgets for the Yahoo Go free development environment, you can have your mobile apps run on hundreds of devices right off the bat, without all that micro-porting from device to device. It's nice to see the market taking care of fragmentation by working with Java ME technology instead of against it. Go with the flow.

Yahoo vs. Google: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla

Here's a quote:

 Yahoo moved to counter Google’s
 push onto mobile handsets,
 unveiling a development platform
of its own for creators of
 mobile internet applications.
Wait until Yahoo starts using its flame breath. That's when the fun begins. Haaaaa...
