Do people really need to read e-mails all the darn time?

I guess people do really need to read e-mail messages from their cell phones, otherwise it wouldn't be such a killer Java ME technology-enabled app. Here's yet another Java ME e-mail program for your mobile phone.

I actually use http://www.movamail.com and find it a great tool to have... however, what I do think is over-hyped is "Push email". I for one dont want to be disturbed or receive notification everytime I get an email. Push email is disruptive and uncalled for... I recall somewhere that a very high percentage of Blackberry users turn off notification. Applications like movamail are all you need. Like your PC email it simply polls for mail. All I want to know is that my email is current when I check for it.

Good point. Those CrackBerry addicts looked like they can't be paying attention very much in meetings with their devices buzzing at them all the time.

Movamail does not offer push D2C but within settings you can have the application poll your email. This works perfectly. I don't need to be interrupted every time I get an email, I just want to know my email is there when I check it. I also think Movamail is well served to stay out of push given the litigation happy actions of NTP. These professional extortionists have sued Blackberry, Visto, and will likely go after anyone doing Push and doing business in the USA.
