Dr. Dobb's article on Redefining Mobile App Dev w/Nemo on Java ME tech
Here's an insightful article on using Nemo to redefine Mobile App Development using Java ME technology. Of course Nemo is that stone-faced captain of the Nautilus submarine in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Oh. And, is the scripting language written on top of Java ME. Yeah, that too. Kinda like JavaFX technology, which by the way, can be downloaded from http://javafx.com. See: Here's a tip: Wireless networks are not LANs. Mobile applications should be designed to be "intermittently connected." As a mobile developer, your application can go from no connectivity to 10KB/sec on a 2.5G network to megabits/sec on 3.5G network. What's a 3.5G network? Yeah, yeah, I know it's the network in between 3G and 4G. But, we don't have that in the U.S... I think. |

Professor Arronax,
3.5G is another name for HSDPA.
In the United States, both T-Mobile and AT&T have HSDPA coverage in certain markets:

:-) Heheh. (I like the Prof. Arronax and your signature reference)
I didn't know that HSDPA was being called 3.5G. Thanks for the reference!
