Java ME Cell Phone Users in China Exceed 500 Million

Java ME technology keeps growing and growing. In China the number of cell phone users exceeded 500 million in Oct. 2007. The number of Java ME mobile game players is forecasted to reach over 24.43 million in China alone.

From the early days of Nokia's snake to today's Java ME color-enhanced multi-player games, the reach of Java ME continues to spread like a mutated Bird Flu.... Hmmm... bad analogy. How about like Mono after a highschool dance? Yeah, that's better. :-)

Great news, only marred by the fact that a large %age of those will be locked down and unable to do HTTP networking etc (see Forum Nokia wiki for details on some Chinese operator default API security settings)
