Sun rallies mobile faithful with Java ME tech

Here's an article about Java Application Terminal Alignment Framework (JATAF), which is a way to ensure your Java ME app or game will run on various networks and handsets. Hey, what happened to all that fragmentation that everyone complains about? Poof! It just disappeared. :-) No wonder why Sun is rallying the mobile faithful...

Unifying the Java ME platform

Here's a quote:

 Since the creation of Java
ME, we've had CLDC and MIDP
in an attempt to make sense
of the chaos. And now, with
 Google and Apple exciting
 developers and service
 providers contemplating
 their own online stores for
 mobile, it's back to Java
ME - only this time with
 unified testing.
It's good to know you're all coming back... eventually. :-)
